Mistakes of the Fasting Ones

أخطاء الصائمين
5. Quarrel and Anger.

It came in the two authentic books (1) from the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah رضى الله عنه that the Messenger of Allaah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said:

"Fasting is a shield (or a screen). So, the person observing fasting should avoid sexual relation with his wife and should not behave foolishly and impudently, and if somebody fights with him or abuses him, he should tell him twice, 'I am fasting.' By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, the smell coming out from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allaah than the smell of musk. (Allaah says about the fasting person), 'He has left his food, drink and desires for My sake. The fast is for Me. Thus, I will reward (the fasting person) for it and the reward of good deeds is multiplied into ten of its likes."

Commentary:

The hadeeth points that Fasting is a sheild, ie a barrier and a protection, Ibn Hajar رحمه الله said: Al-Qoodee said: ie a screen from sins or from the fire or from all of this, and the later is what An-Nawawee affirms. (2).

If someone comes and quarels with you or wants to fight you, don't retaliate with its like. It's sufficient you say: `I am indeed fasting' ie you aren't incapable of retaliating with the like, however, your Fasting is preventing you, trying(your best) to protect its reward from diminishing.

If deficiency of the reward of the fast is attached to (your) retaliation to the one who insults or quarrels with you, how about the one who started it? There is no doubt that he has presented his fast to deficiency. His situation being more serious than the second. Allaah Know best.

What is Telegram?

Telegram is a cloud-based instant messaging service that has been making rounds as a popular option for those who wish to keep their messages secure. Telegram boasts a collection of different features, but it’s best known for its ability to secure messages and media by encrypting them during transit; this prevents third-parties from snooping on messages easily. Let’s take a look at what Telegram can do and why you might want to use it.

NEWS: Telegram supports Facetime video calls NOW!

Secure video calling is in high demand. As an alternative to Zoom, many people are using end-to-end encrypted apps such as WhatsApp, FaceTime or Signal to speak to friends and family face-to-face since coronavirus lockdowns started to take place across the world. There’s another option—secure communications app Telegram just added video calling to its feature set, available on both iOS and Android. The new feature is also super secure—like Signal and WhatsApp and unlike Zoom (yet), video calls will be end-to-end encrypted.
